Hi, Alexander,
I don't have that mouse in front of me, so I don't know the exact specs on
that model. Our wireless mice usually have various ways the conserve power.
If you don't manually power it down but just leave it sitting there over
night, it is probably going into some sort of standby mode. That's why
sometimes you have to move the mouse for a few seconds before you see the
cursor move. For mice that have a place on the bottom to snap in the
receiver, there is often a switch there, and positioning the dongle in the
cavity will activate the power switch. (Technically it's still a "standby"
switch, the electrical engineers tell me, but I think we mortals think of it
as power.) Look on the bottom of this mouse and see if you can see a little
latch or button in the dongle cavity. If you do, that's the power switch.
I wasn't around when we wrote that manual. In all the manuals I've seen
since we've been here, we tell you how to power down the mouse to save
battery life.
Some of our mice have power switches, like the Wireless Laser Mouse 7000,
which is rechargeable. Even though I never turn that mouse off, it takes a
nap when I'm not using it so I don't have to charge it very often. I think
the Arc mouse is the most interesting - there's no switch in the dongle
cavity to turn the mouse off, but when you fold the mouse, that powers it
down.
Hope that helps,
